FAQ

  • Why don’t you accept my specific insurance, and what does that mean for me?

We strive to provide the best possible care while ensuring that our services are accessible to all patients. Unfortunately, we currently do not accept certain insurance plans.

If we don’t accept your insurance, it means that you may be responsible for the full cost of services received. However, we encourage you to check with your insurance provider about potential out-of-network benefits, which may help offset some costs. Please feel free to reach out to our office for more information or to discuss your specific situation.

  • What questions should I ask my insurance before starting services at Resilient Minds Counseling if I want to use my OON benefits?

Call the number on the back of your health insurance card and ask for “member services. Be sure to ask these questions to verify out-of-network coverage:

    • Do I have out-of-network coverage for mental health services provided through telehealth?

    • What is my yearly deductible? Has it been met or how much more until my deductible is met?

    • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

    • How much does my insurance plan reimburse for an out-of-network provider for CPT codes 90834 and 90837?*

    • What is my co-payment (if applicable)?

    • Do I need prior authorization?

    • What is the home and mailing address on my file? (important to ensure checks are issued to the correct address)

    • How do I submit a super bill? Is there an online portal or do I have to mail or fax a copy?

    • What is the time limit to submit a super bill?

  • What if I can't afford your rate?

Don't let my rate discourage you from contacting me! I've found that more often than not I'm able to come up with an acceptable arrangement with most people.

Even when this isn’t the case, I've been able to refer folks to therapists who may be able to accommodate your financial situation.
